9/11 Remembered

As I watch the 25th anniversary remembrance of the events of 9-11-2001, I realize I am not a good enough writer to adequately put into words how tragic that day was. Like many of us, I remember where I was on that day - how my brother called me to tell me to turn on the television when American Airlines Flight 11 hit the North Tower and then less than 20 minutes later, United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the second tower. As the South tower was hit, we all realized that this wasn't an accident. American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon shortly afterwards and finally United Flight 93 was forced down by the passengers into the field near Shanksville, PA before it reached its intended target in Washington, D.C.

As we remember this day, please keep the families and friends of those lost in this cowardly terroristic attack on our country in your hearts and souls. Keep the first responders - the police, fire, EMTs/Paramedics and our military that ran INTO danger to save others. Remember the private citizens who worked together to help complete strangers band together to bring those hurt and scared to safety.

Finally, NEVER FORGET what happened on that day. America is the greatest country in the world, and we must never allow those that wish us harm to prevail.

I was working third shift. I woke up in the morning to use the bathroom and I saw the TV and I thought it was a movie. I said this can’t be real. I kept watching another plane hit the tower and I said this definitely can’t be real…..🥺

I remember... I was working that fateful day, 25 years ago, and received a call from my mother saying to turn on the news. I popped out of the manhole that I was in, and turned on the portable 9 inch B&W television that was stored on the rig and watched the horror as the second plane hit the second tower. It was my 41st birthday. As painful as it was to watch, I'm still in shock that we have Muslims, you know, the beings who hated America enough to carry out this cowardly deed, writing laws as elected officials in this great country of ours. So sad.
