This post got some favorable feedback when first published a few weeks ago, so here's some more True Facts that I've learned.
There's a species of ant that self-destructs as a defense mechanism. The Camponotus saundersi species of ant can cause two mandibular glands to explode when it's losing a fight. The glands are filled with a corrosive and sticky substance that can immobilize its attackers and save other members of its colony.
