Friday was a proud day for America.

The crew of Artemis II, Reid Wiseman: Commander, Victor Glover: Pilot, Christina Koch: Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen: Mission Specialist successfully returned to earth on Friday April 10th, 2026, at 8:07PM.

The Artemis II mission was our first foray into space with a crewed flight around the Moon in over 50 years. The trip's nearly ten-day mission started on April 1st at Kennedy Space Center and concluded when the Orion spacecraft, "Integrity" splashed down in the Pacific Southwest of San Diego.

The mission was an overwhelming historical success and set new records for the farthest distance humans have ever traveled from Earth, reaching 252,756 miles. The reentry was textbook perfect with the capsule traveling at 33 times the speed of sound.

While the U.S. had had its share of failures and setbacks of late, we can proudly offer our praise and well wishes to the brave men and women who made this journey such a momentous triumph.

Artemis II has opened the door for future Moon trips and set the stage for a lunar landing and the establishment of a permanent moon base in the future.

Kudos and congratulations to everyone involved in making this adventure such an amazing victory. We couldn't be prouder.
